Credentials

Cheryl has certifications in a number of realms including YMCA Group Fitness, step, cycle, aqua fit, Pilates, weight training, East/West Yoga, Fitness Boxing from Fitness Kickboxing Canada Inc. and Can Fit Pro Nutrition and Wellness, Older Adult and Personal Trainer. In 2009 Cheryl completed the Canadian Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED instructor course and is now teaching first aid for the YWCA.

Cheryl obtained the YMCA Canada Trainer, as well completed Entry Level Management. In July 2006, she presented at Fitness Fever in Oakville, Ontario, a course she designed - “Fit After 50”. She received an overall evaluation of 8.05 out of 10.  Cheryl enjoys working with a variety of individuals. She is passionate about people, fitness and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.  She loves to assist her clients in reaching their goals and celebrating their success.

Experience

Cheryl joined the YWCA Fitness on 5th team as Program Coordinator Health & Recreation June 2008. Previously she was a 14 year volunteer and 3 year full time employee with the YM/YWCA in Brockville, Ontario. She was chosen by her clients and peers in 2001 for the Dr. Stanley Brown Volunteer of the year award. Fitness has always been an important part of her life.
